Environmental Management Systems Health Check and Gap analysis

As part of our range of Environmental Management Services we offer EMS health checks and gap analysis of your environmental policy, systems and controls to ensure that your systems are operating as intended.




  • Pre-visit questionnaire – A brief five-ten minute exercise in identifying the scope, risks and needs of your business in terms of Environmental impact and management.
  • Preparation and research – exploring the specific risks and needs of your company, including checking the latest industry legislation and guidance specific to your business.

On-site Assessment:

  • Face-to-face (socially-distanced) consultation with your on-site manager/s and relevant staff to discuss sites accidents, systems and identified/controlled risks and previous risk assessment findings.
  • Full documentation review of the premises health and safety, quality and environment systems including accident reporting and investigation, fire safety, maintenance records, asbestos management, record keeping and compliance, drainage plans and more.
  • Informal hazard check of your site/s identifying any uncontrolled risks.

NOTE; This is not a full Environment Risk Assessment (General Risk Assessments as well as; Fire, Legionella, Asbestos, COSHH, PEEPs, DSE and other Health & Safety Risk Assessments are available as individual services from FutureSure)

  • Risk Assessment Review – Review of existing process/production task-specific risk assessments.*
  • On-site debrief – Informal face-to-face debrief with on-site manager/s and relevant staff summarising significant findings prior to the Gap-Analysis Audit written report received within seven days of the assessment.

Post Audit

Gap Analysis Report – (Within 7 days): A detailed written forensic Gap-Analysis Audit report via email or hard-copy. Detailing; 

  • identified risks;
  • existing and recommended controls;
  • missing or insufficient documentation, and; 
  • documented safe systems of work for compliance. 

The report includes a recommended task list with clearly prioritised actions and reasonable set time-frames to action.
